I have reached the point where after I’ve written the song I have stop and absorb it and figure out what its about. My guess is that this is because of such a fast pace of writing that I often don’t have time to think until I have to write a blog about it. I started this song in Ableton and finished it in Logic. Both of these are programs for audio recording/playing/mixing, but I still don’t know Ableton so I had to force myself to navigate at least starting the song and then once I had a shell I transferred and recorded vocals in Logic.
So far in this project I have received 98% positive feedback. Some people have been critical and for a few days even that small percentage got under my skin and I had to pull back and re-evaluate myself and figure out a way out of my head. I meditated, I wrote in my diary and I wrote some poems/lyrics from which this song was born out of. It’s sort of a response but it’s not direct. The song is more about me that it is about other people. Most of you will know that I’ve been through my share of life experiences from war and survival to being on my own at 21. For most of my adult life I’ve fended for myself and somehow I’ve always come out on top. I say somehow even though I know that it was my unwavering belief in myself and determination that always pulled me through. When the time comes and I’m under extreme pressure I always reach my goal. So in light of that this song is a confirmation to myself of my past experiences and my own strength.
